Why does my 1990 Toyota Camry idle fast a start up?

This is because the engine has not yet fully warmed up. The computer increases the idle speed to prevent stalling when the engine is cold. To correct this, wait for the engine to warm up, or shut it off.

Check the idle sensor if you have one.

How do you adjust idle on 2003 Toyota Camry?

You can't. Toyota Camry uses throttle position sensor to adjust idle. If your car does not idle you need to check computer for error codes. If you do not have any, most likely you will have to do tune up on your engine and maybe even fuel system. But starters check the air filter and replace if you did not do that in a while or if it looks dirty.

What is wrong with a 1996 Toyota Camry idling inconsistently when put in drive?

Rough idle in any engine is often caused by a lean condition which is in turn caused by a vaccum leak. On newer vehicles with computerized fuel injection there usually is a form of a IDLE SPEED MOTOR or solenoid (called different things by different companies). The idle speed motor controls the idle and transition from idle, however, they can stick open thus causing a rough idle(vaccum leak).I would ask your dealers service department about this ; they probably have run into this before.........1930fcoupe

Why a 1992 Toyota Camry turnoff when you stop?

Most likely because it can't idle. You need to check if the idle control valve is working (if you have one), also try adjusting the idle control screw.
