I would replace the ingintion module in the distributor. But before you do you need to make sure that the coil wire is good, and the coil itself is good. But I would say the module is the problem.
Could be the ESC (Electronic Spark Control) mounted to the center of the firewall under the hood.
if it is a vortec, there is a fuel line under the upper intake that goes from the manifold to the injector. check it for cracks and leaking or the injector itself. EGR Valve
A bad fuel injector poppet, a bad spark plug, a bad spark plug wire, a bad distributor cap and rotor.
I need to know which is the right length of the spark plug wires are going in to the block?
You may have a injector problem. If it is a 4.3L engine it is not uncommon for a fuel injector to fail. Try to locate which cylinder is not firing. You can pull the plug wire off of the spark plugs one at a time until you reach one that doesn't change engine rpm's.
A bad spark plug, spark plug wire, distributor cap, rotor, fuel injector, fuel pressure regulator, incorrect fuel pressure, dirty fuel filter, contaminated fuel (water),
Need to know what engine it has.
If the distributor cap, rotor, ignition wires and spark plugs check okay then I would suspect a faulty fuel injector.
