It is a well known fact that the KA24E engine has a couple seconds of timing chain slap until the oil reaches it....just my 2 cents
these engines are known to have the chain guides deteriorate, and like said above the chain will slap inside of engine till the oil pressure actuated tensioner pick up the slack, ours with 170k has been doing it for about 50000 miles and it still runs fine, I've read it could eventually wear through housing and mix oil and coolant
