Generally less than 0.005 gigatons, unless it is a huge eruption on a scale we haven't seen in history. Annually, the average is somewhere between 0.15 and 0.25 gigatons (150 - 250 million tons).

(This compares to 34 BILLION tonnes of CO2 from human activity.)

A tiny fraction of a percentage. Volcanic emissions in the present day average 0.15 - 0.25 gigatons. Anthropogenic emissions, by comparison, are now around 35 gigatons.

Name three different things that are emitted from volcanoes?

Volcanoes emit several gases, and not very nice ones (hence the reason that nothing living can exist inside the crater of a volcano). Two gases that volcanoes emit that are NOT poisonous include water and carbon dioxide. On the other hand, they also emit nasty gases like sulfur dioxide.

How does the amount of carbon dioxide that is emitted by volcanoes compare with the amount of carbon dioxide that is added to the atmosphere as a result of human activities?

On average less than 1%. It is estimated that volcanoes emit on average 200 million tonnes of CO2 a year. This includes all volcanoes, hot springs and and undersea hydrothermal vents. Humans emit 26 billion tonnes (2003) a year by burning fossil fuels. The gas burnt onsite at oil wells in gas flares accounts for more CO2 emissions than all volcanoes put together.

How is carbon dioxide alive?

Its not. Carbon Dioxide is a gas that trees and plants ingest and we emit.
