If the Tacometer works but speedometer does not, and the tansmission locks up into 2nd only, the output speed sensor on the transmission could cause this problem. They are cheap wholesale and fairly easy to replace. But look at a manual.'
Turn the key to the acc position then press and hold the trip reset button. The odometer and all of the gauges will light up and cycle thru a reset procedure. That should fix it
