Answer:
I have a 2000 Chevrolet venture and I had the same problem.
You can go a few different ways.
First you can spend about $300 on the entire fuel pump assembly with the fuel level sensor built into it.
The other way (this is the way I chose) is to go onto eBay or amazon or even a dealer may sell it (i got mine from EBAY) and you can purchase the fuel level sending unit by itself.
If you know your pump is good, then don't bother changing the WHOLE unit for the sending unit.
You can get this sending unit (or even the pump and all).
Remove the fuel tank (it's like 3 bolts that hold the tank up by straps) and there are like 3 fuel lines towards the front of the tank.
Make sure it is as low as possible, the tank is like 25 pounds alone.
Anyways, remove the fuel filler neck hose and the overflow hose and then disconnect the wiring plugs.
There is a big notched circular ring, unscrew the ring.
The pump is spring loaded, unscrew the pump from the tank.
Lift it out slowly and you'll see the float level, (that is the level sending unit).
The seller on eBay has complete instructions on how to replace the sending unit...
