Answer
Am I right in assuming that this has an automatic gearbox? If so then more information would help. What you are experiencing may simply be a vehicle which dosnt have seamless gear changes - in this case the gear changes become more noticable under heavy acceleration. Some of these transmissions used what is known as adptive technology, this means that the computer which controls and monitors the engine and gearbox "learns" its gearshift patterns by momorizing your "style" of driving. Are there any noises associated with gear changes? Have you or can you compare with another vehicle of the same make , model?
It is possible that the learned patterns which are stored in the computer, can be reset either by means of a reset button or by disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, the driving style will need to be changed in order to give the computer different parameters. This procedure may require some experimetation in order to "teach" a set of values to the gearchanges which feel right. At first after resetting the E.C.U, try some hard accelerating, this may instruct the computer to get out of first gear quickly to avoid over-revving - after learning this, you MAY find that the gears will shift from 1-2 at lower revs (this is just a theory of mine). Id be interested to find out how it goes.
