Hypotonic- i think. Hypertonic is when it shrinks and Lyses is when the cell burts from swelling too much. We did it with blood cells in my Anatomy and Physiology class.
In a hypotonic solution there is a lower amount of solute so therefore water will diffuse into the cell, which has more solute, causing the cell to overfill, and thus burst.
well it would be that their is an equal amount of solution inside and outside the cell. it is neither hypotonic or hypertonic. it is balanced or equal.
