A happy new year My Japanese friend send me a card and it said A Happy New Year. Why it is not Happpy New Year The card was NOT say We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year?

Your friend may not celebrate Christmas. These days people are scared to offend someone by mentioning a specific religion. Political correctness has turned into a monster that has many people scared to say the wrong thing for fear of offending someone. They may have simply wanted to wish you a happy new year. Don't be offended by their card, rather be glad that they thought of you and want to wish you a happy new year.

Merry Christmas! (just in case no one was brave enough to tell you.)
