Thirst is usually a good indicator of whether or not a person is getting enough fluids to drink. However, there is increased water loss when a woman is breastfeeding and the woman needs to make sure she is drinking more water than normal. Generally, a breastfeeding woman should be drinking around 100 ounces of water a day. If a woman's urine is relatively clear than she is drinking enough water.
