According to the Bible in which season was Jesus born?

[Edit]

Answer

Actually the Bible does not give a specific date or even season for Jesus' birth. From what Bible historians and scholars have discovered, Christ was born closer to mid or late sping. Exact dates can be argued but that would be the time. The Catholic church moved the date in order to compete with several pagan holidays and a well known jewish holiday. This does not and should not ruin your celibration of christmas. The important thing is that we celabrate it and the real meaning.

Answer

In what month and on what day of the month was he born?

Not one of his biographers is prepared to tell; primitive Christians did not know; the church has never been able to determine this. A hundred different opinions regarding it have been expressed by Christian scholars. Wagenseil places it in February, Paulius in March, Greswell in April, Lichtenstein in June, Strong in August, Lightfoot in September, and Newcome in October. Clinton says that he was born in the spring, Larchur says that he was born in the fall. Some early Christians believed that it occurred on the 5th of January; others the 19th of April; others still on the 20th of May. The Eastern church believed that he was born on the 7th of January. The church of Rome, in the fourth century, selected the 25th of December on which to celebrate the anniversary of his birth; and this date has been accepted by the greater portion of the Christian world.

Answer

According to Luke 2:8 the shepherds were out in the fields watching their flocks at night. This is apparently unlikely to take place in the winter and is thought by some to have been late September, which would make the end of December of the previous year as the time of the miracle of the incarnation. The adoption of December 25 has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual date of Jesus' birth. This is not an unusual thing even in modern times as a holiday for the birthday of the Queen Elizabeth II of England is not held on her actual birthday either.

Nor is it significant at all that the date is not known as the fact of both Jesus' birth and death and glorious resurrection are more important to the writers and their meaning, not the actual date. This was common practice for ancient writers -to only focus on key events in a life or in the history of a nation. In any case, September would be autumn in Israel.

from JoJmnz144:

He was born in the Feast of Tabernacles or the Festival of Booths (SUKKOT). This is one of the Feastdays mandated by G-D for all Israel to observe annually. Jews, even, today are required to build a "sukka" or temporary booth/shelter close on three sides and open to the skies. They can sleep, eat or lounge inside throughout the night. Yeshua was probably birthed in one of those "sukkas" at that time. All male Jews are also required to make the pilgrimage to the Temple at this time. One of three required annual pilgrimages. I f you want some reading materials on this, let me know.

John Chapter 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and tabernacled* among us And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us

tabernacled* : the actual word used here was sukkotai. Sukkot is a noun word, yet in this verse it was turn into a verb the only time it was used as such.

One of the chief reason why the church or christians could not comprehend this fact was because they tried to claim the Bible as Christian. It is not. It is Jewish and it belongs to Israel/Jews. The words, the context of the Bible is 100% Jewish and can only be interpreted/understood if read through the lens of Judaism/Jewish life.

The Bible is about the Torah, Israel's Covenants, Israel's Governments and Offices, Israel's Mandates and most of all Israel's History and promised future. Yeshua and all of His teachings belongs to Israel. The New Testament / Covenant, therefore belongs even to Israel.

As The Feast of Tabernacles is a seven-day Biblical pilgrimage festival, it also significant that the eight day is to be observed as " holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD". All male Jews are required to be circumsized eight days after their birth and offered to the Temple. So the first day is a High Shabbat and the Eight day is also a High Shabbat: The day of BIRTH and the day of the CIRCUMCISION.

Leviticus 23:33-43 states:

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the LORD. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it. These are the feasts of the LORD which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on its day-- besides the Sabbaths of the LORD, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you give to the LORD. 'Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days. You shall keep it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God' " (NKJV).

Philippians 3:5
I was circumcised on the eighth day. I'm a descendant of Israel. I'm from the tribe of Benjamin. I'm a pure-blooded Hebrew. When it comes to living up to standards, I was a Pharisee.
Genesis 17:1-14
The whole land of Canaan shall be [your] eternal heritage, and I will be a God to [your descendants].' God [then] said to Abraham, 'As far as you are concerned, you must keep My covenant - you and your offspring throughout their generations. This is My covenant between Me, and between you and your offspring that you must keep: You must circumcise every male. You shall be circumcised through the flesh of your foreskin. This shall be the mark of the covenant between Me and you. 'Throughout all generations, every male shall be circumcised when he is eight days old.......This shall be My covenant in your flesh, an eternal covenant. The uncircumcised male whose foreskin has not been circumcised, shall have his soul cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.
