Weight loss is a side effect. Not everyone loses weight, but Adderall is known to help with weight loss. Although, sometimes that isnt always good. I have developed an eating disorder because of Adderall. You just have to be smart about it, and never abuse Adderall.

When you first begin taking Adderall, one of its side effects is to reduce appetite which results in weight loss. However, this side effect only lasts about six months and then disappears and your normal appetite returns.
