Conga drums originated in Cuba as did the conga dance, drums used by African tribes though were usually hollowed out logs and were used for religeous ceremonies and for communication over long distances.
Drums serve many different purposes all around the world. They are used in music, communications, traditions, and rituals and they are symbolic and/or sacred in many cultures.
Here are some examples:
-You have to use drumsticks on a drum if you are playing a snare drum, woodblock, cowbell, or timbales.
