After you have your first child and you've gained weight do men lose interest in you because of this and prefer thinner girls?

Having your first child together is a super adjustment. The baby will need feedings at all hours of the day and night and both parents are extremely exhausted. Of course the mother is going to be new at the duties of motherhood and a bit nervous and thus, her attention is usually on the baby. Sometimes men feel their female partners are more into the baby then them and there is a little jealousy going on there. For some reason men think you can give birth, have a new little human being in your lives and continue on as you had when you didn't have a child. You have a big baby on your hands.
I think he loves you and the baby, and your weight (right now) has nothing to do with it. It's all about communication and making him a part of caring for the baby so he feels a part of the whole thing. Let him hold the baby and if you are bottle feeding, let him feed the baby and let him help you bathe the baby. Baby's have a way of winning almost anyone's heart. Also ask the grandparents or someone you trust to babysit the odd Saturday night and get out with your partner and have a little fun. I know the first time away from your baby is the hardest, but you can always call a couple of times during the evening to put your mind to rest, and continue on with having some fun. Women that are inclined to be slim and then get pregnant often bounce back to a slim body, but not all women are that fortunate. Concentrate on the baby right now, and later, if you feel you need to lose some weight then join Weight Watchers (excellent for losing weight and I have gone to them) and get yourself in shape. Sit down with your partner and explain your feelings as to how you are new at raising the new baby and a little nervous, and you realize you have perhaps been ignoring him, but it's not forever.
