An alarm sounds when starting my 99 ford ranger beeps 5 times pauses then again for a total of 25 beeps. what causes this?
Five Chimes then pause and again for 5 more intervals - It's the Air bag Light IN THE DASH - It is burned out - REPLACE the dash lightbulb for the airbag light and the chiming sound will go away....
If the Pasenger Side airbag switch has a burned out bulb also (UNDER YOUR ASH TRAY) - this will cause the DASH light to stay on once you replace it.
You can solder a new bulb into the Pasenger Side Airbag Swith (Under your ashtray) from Radio Shack.
