protons 26 electrons 26 neutrons Iron will have 26 electrons 26 protons (they are = because the atom is neutral) and it will have 30 neutrons (because protons + neutrons= your atomic weight)

electrons have virtually no mass

If the iron atom had a +2 charge there would be two less electrons than protons. 26 protons 24 electrons 30 neutrons.

The number of protons in an atom is equivalent to it's atomic number, in this case, 26. The number of neutons is equivalent to the Atomic Mass minus the number of protons, in this case 30 (or just the atomic mass minus the atomic number). The number of electrons in neutral atoms is equivalent to the number of protons.

If, as you have alleged, the atom is electrically neutral, then the number of its

negative charges must be equal to the number of its positive ones. Therefore it

must follow, as the night does the day, that, since there are 26 positive protons in

the atom's nucleus, there must be 26 negative electrons bound to that nucleus,

if neutrality in the electrical sense is to be achieved.

Its atomic mass is the amount of protons plus the amount of neturons, therefore it is 56. Electrons are so small their mass is virtually none. Therefore meaning they don't effect the mass.

Charge is +3 As there are 3 more protons than there are electrons.

atomic mass/weight is number of protons + number of neutrons = 56

atomic number is 26.

What is the number of protons and nuetrons for aluminum?

The atomic number of aluminium is 13. So it has 13 protons and 13 electrons.

How many protons nuetrons and electrons does yttrium have?

Look at the atomic number. That will be the number of protons and electrons; subtract that number from the atomic mass (rounding down) and you'll have the number of neutrons.

How do you calculate the amount of protons or neutrons in an element?

well you look at the periodic table of elements. the atomic number equals the number of protons. Then subtract the number of protons from the atomic mass (both protons and nuetrons have atomic mass units of 1 and electrons equal 0). That will give you the number of nuetrons.

How many protons nuetrons and electrons does copper have?

Copper has 29 protons, that is why it has the atomic number of 29. In addition, copper has 29 electrons and 35 neutrons.

What is the total number of protons and neutron's in an atom called?

How many protons neutrons and electrons are in aluminum?

,Aluminium ; from the Periodic Table its atomic no. is 13. Its atomic mass is 27. From the information we can deduce ;- #1 ; The number of protons is '13' #2 ; the number of electrons is '13' #3 ; the number of neutrons is '27-13 = 14'. Remember for all elements, the number of protons and electrons is the same as the atomic number ; its position in the periodic table. Remember to, for all elements, if you subtract the atomic mass from the atomic number , then answer id the number of neutrons in the most common isotope.

What is the sum of the protons and nuetrons in an atomic number?

atomic number is the number of protons. the sum of protons and neutrons is known as mass number

What element has 18 protons 20 nuetrons and 18 electrons What is its atomic number?

The atomic number of am element is determined by its number of either electrons or protons, hence here, it is 18. Therefore the element must be argon which the isotope has mass number 38, as there are 18 protons and 20 neutrons.

How many neutrons do the elemants have?

There are too many elements to list how many nuetrons each one has, but as a general rule of thumb you can subtract the atomic number (number of protons) from the molecular mass number (Which is generally the number of protons and nuetrons added, since electrons weigh very little) to obtain the number of nuetrons For example, Carbon has an atomic mass of 12. Subtract the atomic number, which is 6, and you will get the number of nuetrons, which is also 6.
