Insurance company information is not a public record and is not available on the Internet. If you are hiring a contractor to do work on your property, you can require them to send you a Certificate of Insurance, showing that they have sufficient insurance coverage before they begin working. The certificate will show the name of their insurance company.

I misspelled my wife's name (beneficiary) on life insurance policy. What I can do?
Yes, you can if you are traveling. That is why you are given a temporary license plate. If you are not traveling, but buying a vehicle in another state & bringing it home, yourself i.e. driving it home; it will have a temporary plate. The temporary license plate must & always is registered to the owner of the vehicle. The registration include's their name, city, state, zipcode, car vin, etc. Anyone should be fine, as long as they have a valid temporary license plate, driver's license & insurance.
In the USA you can get temporary car insurance for your friend's car at a local insurance company. Some offer daily car insurance, temporary cover for cars and short car insurance. These insurance covers are granted when you have a new car, test driving, when using someone else's car and when selling cars. Also your friend should be willing to send you the title and allow you to register the car in your name, however do list both addresses and do schedule the owner as an insured too. That is as the policy may need to match the registration name as any compensation will only be payable to them.
