  • Christians are not better; we are sinners like everyone else. We've simply accepted Gods gift. We are forgiven, though, by God through Jesus Christ when we ask for forgiveness and have repented (which means, turning yourself 180 degrees away from sin, trusting Christ as the One Who bore our sins on the Cross, and then trying to live for His honor and glory).
  • Believers don't do things for paradise in heaven, but to please God simply because we have a relationship with Him, and love Him. We like to do what He'd like us to do. Because he's given us a gift of forgiveness for the wrong things we've done, we try to not blow that gift away a lot.
  • No. Christians are not "better" than anyone else. The fact is, God created ALL of us and we all came from the same place. God has a plan and a will for everyone's life, but we have to accept Him and let Him be the Lord of our lives, first. Sometimes Christians may seem to think better of themselves, but while they are forgiven for their sins, they are still capable of sinning. Christians are human, too, and Satan works hard to corrupt the Christian image and works even harder to corrupt the heart of those who love the Lord.
This, however, does not make it right for anyone to think of themselves higher than any other. God is a God of love and the Christian faith is based on just that. "For God SO LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever should believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."-John 3:16 The keywords in that amazing verse are "so loved" and "whosoever" and God loves all of us the same and wants us to love Him as well.

  • We Christians are absolutely 100% human, we STILL sin and are just as shameful in the eyes of the Lord as everyone else. The thing is, as Christians, we ask for forgiveness and do our best to not keep sinning. No one is better than anyone else, except the Lord. And none of us will ever EVER come close to having even a millionth of the character that He has.
  • Real Christians not only do not think they are better than anyone, they know they aren't. Being saved by the Grace of God through their Savior, Jesus Christ, is humbling, not exalting.
  • An answer to this question requires that we respect "everyone else" who does not believe in the Christian God. They may believe equally fervently in another "god "- or "gods"- and who are we to say they are wrong? They may even believe in no God at all - once again, who are we to say they are wrong?

Whether or not one group - Christians, or anyone else - is better than others, can only be answered by looking at the evidence. And what we find is that there are good Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Taoists and even atheists, just as there are bad people in each. There is no evidence that crime and inequality are any less in predominantly Christian countries.

Christians can strive to become better. I think that one way to do this is to cease seeing the world just through the eyes of a Christian, and look for good in all people. Then, if Christianity is the one true religion and if God really made us all, then "everyone else" will see the example you are setting.
  • Christians are not better than other people, because all of us have sinned. However, we can appear to be better than others. Here is our philosophy :
Romans 7:18 " For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." So, we are all evil : Christian or not Christian. But what Christians do, is admit our weaknesses and let the Lord govern our lives.

Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." So, if we appear better than others it's just because our evil nature has died and now we reflect the person of God.

  • The problem in giving an Answer to this Question is that there needs to be a reality check on the true definition of "Christian," which means "Christ follower." When a person says that he/she is a Christian, yet has no real understanding of who Christ is, nor has knowledge of what He expects of us, it is a false claim to say that one is a Christian. This occurs across what is called Christendom.
Christ Himself had said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23.

While true Christians are not perfect, they try to follow Christ's ways. When they do wrong, they ask God to forgive them & to help them to live right, in His eyes.

That does not make them better than anyone else, but it does give them a blessed resource to get on the right track and to be more consistent in staying there. But the instructions always there: "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." 1 Corinthians 10:12.

  • Christians are not better than anybody else. We are all sinners in the sight of God. The difference with Christians is that they are forgiven. If you have not come to God, through Jesus, then your sins have not yet been forgiven and still stand. Sin separates man, from God. Christ is the Mediator between man & God., Everyone must stand before God one day and give an account to God for our life. Without Jesus Christ to stand in your defense, you are on your own. Only through trusting in the sacrifice which Jesus made on the Cross can we be saved, nothing else. John 14:6
  • No. If fact, the vast majority of "Christians" are actually worse than the "non-Christians". The reason is, so-called Christians are so focused on the way not to be, that they actually end up being that way. Many so-called Christians are rude, judgmental, scared - like anybody else. The only real difference between the two, is one believes they are heading to a better place, possibly very deceived. The other side just thinks differently about the afterlife.
  • It depends what you mean by better. The Bible teaches that you will know Christians by their fruit, i.e., they will live lives that show by their love that they are disciples of Christ. So in that sense, they should be living better lives than non-Christians. Many false Christians like to argue they are just the same as everyone else ( which is true ), because there is no noticeable difference in their lives than the average non-Christian, other than that they go to Church.
However, even the most devout disciple of Jesus is a sinner. Peter for example denied Jesus 3 times. So, you will not find anyone that lives perfectly. No one is a Christian due to them being better, in any way, than other people. They are Christians because they had realized that they were separated from God because of their sin and they discovered that they no longer need to be separated, but rather can know God.

  • No they're not! A true christian is actually less then everyone. Because, just as Jesus came we need to live a life of complete humility, being a servant.

They are people, and as people, some might believe they are awesome. If they choose to believe they are awesome and above other people, then they are going against scripture. The Bible places a huge emphasis on being humble and being servants.

Christianity, or Christians, don't have any holy scripts. They don't place themselves above other people or think they are better. Why do Christians think that everyone should be Christian?

Christians strongly believe that their religion is the one true religion. Some have difficulty accepting that followers of other religions believe just as strongly that their own religion is the true religion. There may even be a sense for some Christians that it is in some way irrational for others not to convert readily to Christianity, when told what Christians believe. Some Christians also believe that they have a duty to convert followers of all other religions, to Christianity. Finally, it is a requirement among certain minor Christian sects and denominations for young adults to spend up to two years attempting to convert others.
