Are cat is omnivorous?

Answer:
Cats are considered to be carnivorous, because their diet primarily consists of meat, and this is where they get their energy. However, like other carnivores, they will eat other foods as roughage or for the flavor. (Strange but true: foxes have a sweet tooth and love berries.) Cats in particular eat a substantial amount of plant matter to help them digest hairballs. Anyone that owns a cat can tell you that they will eat small amounts of very diverse foods. But unlike true omnivores, such as bears and humans, a cat will never switch to a meatless diet even if meat is not readily available; in the absence of meat a cat would starve.
