Generally they are great with children, If you bring the pup in after the child, but it all depends on the dog. I was raised with a puppy at my side and she was great, she even protected me against other dogs when i was little!
Yes , they are , my family got a king charles when I was around five or six and they are very playful dogs and tolerante with children. But , they can have their grumpy days and its best to leave them alone when they have thoughs days because mine can snap at me sometimes I am now fifteen. hope this helps :) it all depneds on how you raise the king charles. :) xx
It really depends on the individual dog, more than the breed. If the dog is well socialized and more or less submissive in nature (rather than a dominate dog) it will be an easier dog to control. All dogs need training, and if you aren't the clear "leader", many dogs will make a "power play" to become the leader, and behavioral problems can result.
If you're inexperienced as a dog owner, your best bet is to enroll in a dog obedience class. You will learn how to control the dog, and the dog will learn how to obey. Generally, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is intelligent enough to understand what you want and therefore usually easy to train and respond well to gentle obedience training. Cavalier's usually love people, enjoy companionship, and need rules to follow and limits to what they are allowed to do.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels need a daily walk. Play will take care of a lot of their exercise needs, however, as with all breeds, play will not fulfill their primal instinct to walk. Dogs who do not get to go on daily walks are more likely to develop behavior problems. They will also enjoy a good romp in a safe open area off lead, such as a large fenced in yard.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a really sweet breed. They are really good with kids of all ages, but I would not have them around kids that aren't able to walk or craw. They do like to stand on their hind legs with their front legs on your leg. so yes the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Breed is really good with all aged kids.
In general, Cavvies are friendly, happy, kind dogs that relate well to children. However, since they are small, they should not be around toddlers or preschoolers who might accidently abuse the animal. A 5- or 6-year-old child who has been taught to treat dogs with respect would be perfect.
Note: Cavaliers are prone to some very serious health problems, including Heart disease and cranial deformities. It is a good idea to choose puppies only from a very reliable breeder, or to adopt dogs from a breed rescue organization.
Generally yes. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a gentle, even-tempered dog that is affectionate and is excellent with children. It is also easy to train and eager to please.
However, bear in mind that adult supervision is compulsory when the children are interacting with the dog. Also, all dogs can attack when it feels threatened, and some behaviour shown by young children may appear intimidating.

The English toy spaniels are different then the Cavalier king Charles spaniel. I personally have a cavalier and think they are much prettier and magestic, but that's just me. The main difference between the two breeds is that the English toy spaniels has a pug like mussle. The English toy spaniel are also known as the king Charles spaniel (not too be confused with the Cavalier king Charles spaniel).Try Google that should help you to.
