In my experience with depo, the first two shots gave me the worst cramps I have ever had, with spotting and bleeding. I took the shot for a year, and even though its not part of your question, I do NOT recommend depo for anyone. It really messes you up, also they have published reports that it causes bone mass loss after two years of it. My gyn said she would've stopped the shot before two years.
