Are dirt bikes safe for 9 year olds? In: Motorcycles |
Answer
Its safe if you use the right safety equipment(helmet, boots, etc.)and with proper adult supervision
ERYNNSMAMA WROTE:
Absolutely! I'm a 50 year old female, and my husband and I have been riding (he's been mx racing since he was a teenager) since we were kids. With the proper gear, the right bike and a responsible adult or adultS with him/her, it is a great form of exercise for the mind and body.
Just be prepared to live the SUPERCROSS lifestyle, cos if your child is good, he or she will no doubt (and SHOULD) want to attend lots of races and supercrosses in stadiums all over the united states. It's an addiction. But much better than sitting around getting fat playing Xbox!! I say GO FOR IT!! And the clothes are sool cool!! (Oh but the stickers are the absolute best part of it all!!!!!!! )
Answer
Most of the current pros actually started at the age of 4 or 3 years old. 9 is definitely sufficient. As stated above, prepare for the competitive part of this. If you live in US it will be Supercross or Freestyle motocross. In other parts of the world it's most likely that he/she will choose motocross.
Anyways, you asked if it's "safe for 9 year olds". The answer is NO. It's not safe for 30 Year olds. This is one of those sports that have risks involved. If the kid is serious about this then he has a 100% chance of injury and at least 50% chance of serious injury.
