Are gays acceptable to God? |
[Edit] |
Answer
According to the Bible, though, anyone (except those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit) is acceptable to God. The problem is that sin is not acceptable to God, and the gay lifestyle is a sin. That means one must choose between being gay or any other sin and God.
Answer
Keep in mind that the foregoing is only one of the many interpretations of the many versions of bibles that exist. The following website has an excellent synopsis of what different religions have to say about homosexuality. http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_chur.htm
Answer
There is reason to believe God would find offense to Homosexuality. Homosexuality perverts the normal use of a created being and its body parts. The mammal's penis and vagina were created to procreate. The attraction between two of the opposite sexes is to insure that the species copulate and reproduces more of that species in order to continue life. All species have a basic instinct to copulate. Homosexuals could actually be better labeled as perverts of sex.

according to all three of the leading monotheism's in today's world (Christianity, Judaism, Islam), homosexuality is a sin, and is considered an abomination. so homosexuality is not looked upon favorably... and to all those who brought up the "don't judge" sentences, we don't have to, God will on this one. Does God judge no-one who sins? Does that mean we can do anything cause God won't judge us? In that case, why give us commandments at all? No, I'm pretty sure homosexual actions are a sin.
Answer
Talk about a double edged sword here! Now let me see ....
- Gays contribute to all aspects of society ... the workforce, art, writing, acting, professors, lawyers, doctors, etc. I think you get the picture.
- They pay taxes! They pay just as much medical care as the some of you.
- Some gays are poor and others aren't.
- Some gays have their own religious beliefs which, as I assumed all my life was the right in a free country!
- They look like us, bleed red blood, are hurt by offensive remarks and yes, some even commit suicide over it because of the bigots in society.
- Gays also are high contributors to different Charity Organizations and just not for their own rights of being gay. They have more compassion for those that ridicule them.
I am a Christian and I'm personally getting tired of people spouting off if God will forgive gays or not when each person that utters the Bible isn't holier than thou themselves and thus my quote 'Those who have not sinned cast the first stone!' God judges, and there is nowhere in the Bible that says he will condemn gays to hell. When it was mentioned re man should not be with man nor woman with woman that was during the Sodom and Gomorrah times. Many Christians can take things out of context. The word 'gay' IS NOT in the Bible!
When gays bother no one, work, try to have a peaceful life then they should be left alone. It's an individual rights whether to associate with gays. I have gay friends (I didn't know a few were gay at the time, but the others I knew about) and THANK GOD I got to know them because they are some of my most loyal friends.
I think I'm going to let God judge this one and there is enough unrest, ridicule and wars to keep us occupied so in the scheme of things gays do not cause anyone any misery and certainly don't deserve to be labeled and the fear of God put into them. My God is a loving God and I trust his decisions and I have no doubt he considers gays His children as well.
To the poster above that feels because we may or may not allow gays into our society for fear that if we do that all hell I suggest you read the 10 Commandments again. Gays are not criminals nor did they ask to be the way they are. Did you ever think God may be testing YOU to see how you react? My attitude is, if they don't hurt me in any way, shape or form then live and let live. If we don't start getting along together whether we are gay or not and are too judgemental then it could be us that is condemned by God for taking the liberty of judging others.
Do some research and find out how many murders are committed by so-called Christians. We have several here in Canada!
Answer
I deleted a bunch of stuff simply because it was so off the wall about Christians condemning gays. 1st of all, the question was not, "should Christians be able to condemn gays" it was "are gays acceptable to GOD?" There should be no personal opinions involved. I love my gay friends to death too, but thats not the point. You don't have to be religious to answer, just informed about what God teaches. So let's look at it from God's standpoint. 1st of all, no one, Christian or not, should be judging gays. That's 100%correct, as you quoted about being the 1st to throw stones and so on and so forth. If they do judge them then that's very wrong and not at all Christian behavior. However, lots of people take it as judging when Christians say that being gay is wrong. That's not judging that person or where they'll end up, it's recognizing the behavior as evil, which the Bible clearly portrays it to be. Not the people, the behavior. I love how some of the other people said we "shouldn't judge" because "they can't help it" or "they were created that way" or "it never directly says 'gay' in the Bible." 1st of all, God does not create evil, therefore, if in fact the Bible does say that homosexual behavior is evil, then God did not create people this way. So let's check out some verses from the Bible and see Biblically what God's view of gays is:
"Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves... Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done... (list of more bad things) ... They know God's decree, that those who practice such things deserve to die- yet they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them." -Romans 1:24,26-28, 32
Once again, it's not the people that God condemns, but the behavior. Christians don't hate the sinner, but the sin.
no its is not...the person is but being gay is actually against what God says so the short answer is no...
sorry :(....become straight :)
Answer
One has to answer from the heart on the question asked because not one Christian has the answer or knows what God will do. It also says in the Bible that if one (even near death) accepts Jesus into their heart that they will be forgiven. I do believe that includes gays!
To demand a gay person to become straight is like demanding a straight person to become gay! If one did their research there is indeed a gene that scientists have discovered that they are testing and feel this can cause the person to be trapped in a gender they didn't ask for.
