Palm trees do have hearts and back in the days, Florida settlers used to live off the cabbage palm tree, also known as the Sable Palmetto. They used to make the heart of the Cabbage Palm into a delicious stew. To this day, the Cabbage Palm Tree is eaten in rural areas of Southern and Northern Florida.
