No, they are like any other dog. If taught to be mean or abused then they will grow to be agrressive. They are not people aggressive unless taught to be. I have one who lives with 3 cats and another dog. My cats are more aggressive than he is. I will say he is the most loyal loving dog I have ever owned. I will never own another breed now because of him. Do not believe the media hype. I was scared of the breed but was open minded enough to take in this puppy. I have changed many minds with my dog. Anyone who was previously scared because of the breed now love my dog.
No, not at all unless he/she has had a violent past. If not they are loving pets for you, if you are a pet lover.
American bull dogs like pit bulls are in the bull breeds category. If you raise them properly they will be good dogs.

Any dog can be aggressive, but Pit Bull's get lots of stereotype - more than any other breed. If raised around people and with other dogs, there is no reason why a Pit Bull should be violent. Blame the deed, not the Breed!
This is what many different campaigns in the UK are currently trying to do. For a start, raise and own well-behaved and non-aggressive Pit Bull's and be a responsible owner. It is very hard to stop other Pit Bull owners being irresponsible, but lead a good example. This will show people that not all Pit Bull's are aggressive, and not all Pit Bull's have irresponsible owners. Besides this, you could join a campaign to end breed stereotyping. Blame the deed, not the Breed!

Bully breed dogs are dogs that are classified as pit bill type breeds and were originally bred to fight bulls for sport. Not all dogs that have the term "bull" in their breed qualify. Bully breeds include the American pit bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Staffordshire terrier, English bull terrier, miniature bull terrier, and the American bulldog. (The English bulldog is not considered a bully breed.) Bully breeds are all part of the pit bull family, but each breed has unique personalities and temperaments. Bully breeds have gotten a bad reputation because of their aggressive beginnings, but they are great dogs to the right owner.
The most aggressive dogs are Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, and German Sheppard's All three of these dogs made the list of the top 10 dogs that bite people. Looking at each of these dogs its understandable why each is so aggressive. The Rottweiler was bred to be a very aggressive/possessive guard-dog. The Pit Bull was bred to attack and kill the other dog in the sport of dog fighting. And, lastly the German Sheppard was taken advantage of during World War 2 by Hitler. He used the dog as an aggressive war dog and consequently caused the breed to become over-ally more aggressive.
All ages
Pit bulls are trained to be fighting dogs. Approximately 5% of pit bulls are good at dog fighting once trained. Like any dog, the best way to tell if a pit bull is aggressive is how its raised. If it is kept alone, or is not introduced to new situations it will likely be fearful of new experiences and can bite.
