Seances are not dangerous as long as they are not taken too seriously. It is only when people begin to believe that there really is contact with the dead, and therefore could make irrational decisions or become uduly emotionally involved, that risk could exist. Just remember that seances are a form of entertainment, and that there is no real way to contact the dead.
