Are there any reasons aside from making money that people work?

People also work to give their life more meaning. It gives them fulfillment to do a hard day's honest work.
Probably to meet people, or to get degrees for high/collage schools. Sometimes you're requried to do stuff like that.

If you have children, you will run to get a job, just to get them out of the way :-))). Honestly, a mum needs to get out of the house and meet other people and a good side effect is to earn money. Another reason is, you get more self confidence when you see your work is honoured ( at home nobody will tell you: good job ).
