I myself own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier female who was introduced to a treadmill at a young age and now frequently uses it on a walking speed. It is not wise to expect an adult dog who has never used a treadmill to readily exept being on it so patience and rewards will be needed to make it an enjoyable experience. Using a treadmill is a good idea if you are short of time or are too tired to take the dog for a proper walk, but dog's do get bored of using them if they do not get their normal walk outdoors. There is no substitute for a good walk in the fresh air so use a treadmill sparingly. Please do not be tempted to put it on a high speed whilst your dog is on it as you may frighten or hurt your dog. Keep it at a walking pace until your dog is comfortable being on it without a lead.
