Most women can, and should have nuts while pregnant. They are rich with protein, omega 3, fiber and additional nutritional ingredients that both the mother and the baby need. They are especially recommended for vegan and vegetarian pregnant women since they don't have meat and fish, which are main sources of protein and omega 3.

As walnuts are a very good source of Omega 3 fatty acids, not only are they safe but infact can be beneficial to the baby. Although there is no long term research conducted, there has been some links between cultures that consume high quantities of these fatty acids tend and "brighter children" in general. Again since there is no clear research on the subject, this point may be argued, but since Omega 3 is beneficial to the health of both the mother and the child - eating foods such as walnuts cannot harm either.
