Are you kidding?! Of course Weezer is brilliant! Have you never heard "Greatest Man That Ever Lived", "Everybody Get Dangerous", "Heart Songs", "Beverly Hills", "Troublemaker", etc.? Those are some of the greatest songs that have ever been created by mortal man! Weezer rocks hard, why yes, in fact they are brilliant.
P.S. I am thoroughly insulted that anyone would ever BEGIN to question their brilliantness.

The lead singer's dad called him weezer when he was a kid. The band Weezer got it's name because the lead singer's parents used to call him Weezer as a kid because he weezed. That's it.
