So, no we are not a chimp, we are made from dust.

For 2nd Timothy 3:16,17 says: All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Chimpanzees Pan troglodytes and Pan paniscus are the closest relatives to extant Homo. That does not make Homo equivalent to Chimpanzee Pan. One must realise that evolution does not work in a 'linear' fashion eg Chimpanzee becoming Human or (the idiotic idea of some not versed in Evolution Theory) that Chimpanzees suddenly displace themselves by giving birth to Humans.
Evolution works in a branching/diverging/bifurcatory fashion. There was at x time in the past a Pan-Homo common ancestor, whose population diverged to give rise to the extant Pan on the one hand and the extant Homo sapiens on the other (via Australopithecus and a few Homo species and perhaps other genera on the Homo branch and Pre-Pan troglodytes/paniscus species and/or genera on the Pan branch. Due to such a divergence from a common ancestor it should be plain that you are not a Chimpanzee, but a Human.
