Sure you are, because it's pasteurized. It is advisable to avoid non-pasturized cheeses and dairy products throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding, because raw milk and the food made from it can carry disease-causing organisms, including a bacterium called Listeria monocytogenes. (Dairy products made from pasteurized milk, on the other hand, have a very low risk of contamination.)

Listeriosis (the infection caused by Listeria) is relatively rare. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that it affects 1,600 people in the United States each year. But pregnant women are particularly susceptible, and the infection can be devastating and even deadly for unborn babies.

For more information talk to a medical professional or do more research on credible websites, Be sure your information is scientific and up to date.

What is wiping cream?

I'm pretty sure you meant to say whipping cream. Whippingg Cream is the white, fluffy stuff in a container you can buy at a grocery store. Normally for cakes, pies, cupcakes, etc. Or just for you to eat plain. Like me(: The fluffy stuff is "whipped cream". Whipping cream is in the milk section and it's cream that has the most dairy fat. You pour it into a bowl and whip it until it becomes "whipped cream."

Is it safe to eat sour cream and chives when pregnant?

Sour cream, as in the delightfully tasty topping for baked potatoes, will not harm your baby while you're pregnant. Neither will cheese which is another cultured product or yogurt (another) or any of a number of other cultured products. Unpasteurised milk products should not be eaten while pregnant but it is quite safe to eat pasteurised products. Be careful about taking advice on a website. If you have a question like that, ask your doctor.
