Are you born gay? |
As I see it, people are born sexual, and become increasingly sexualized as they grow older. Our pleasures also change along the way. We are shaped by social expectations, stereotypes, and taboos in a matter that no one understands any better than we understand most aspects of the brain. Life experiences also change us. Why do we generally prefer someone our own age as a romantic partner? Does the acceptable age range not change over the years? Is there not generalities that seem true? Don't people prefer one type of "look" over another, and doesn't that vary widely? What about the difference between the sexes? Seems males start off liking teenage girls, especially those needy of attention, and that doesn't seem to change. Females are not so easy to group, but they tend to like older, or mature men who have power and take charge.
I accept the principle that people seek pleasure and avoid pain, and to the degree that someone deviates from that model tension is created in themselves and in others. At the point "problems" arise then deviations are labeled as undesirable or wrong. Sexuality is more than what feels good, though, or there would be people wanting to marry washing machines on the spin cycle. As with other animals, say our cattle, we accept the concept that sex is for procreation, although the cows and bulls don't know that.
Answer
Are you born gay? Probably.
You certainly have very little chance of changing, unless you are attracted to both sexes. If you are bisexual, then you can probably choose to act either straight or gay.
Answer
Yes, when you are born your sexuality is 'hard wired' into your brain. It cannot be changed after that, so it is best to come to terms with who you are.

Read this article. Then read the actual studies. People are NOT born gay.
Answer
Family.org is a Christian website. They would like to believe that people CHOOSE to be homosexual, and so can change if they want to. This is incorrect. The only CHOICE that gay people have is whether they will hide ashamed in the closet, or accept themselves with pride.
Answer
I honestly do think you can be born gay. There are certain features that you see common in a homosexual couple. But also a friend of mine (obviously gay) when asked if he chose to be gay his answer was why would he choose to be hated and frowned upon by so many people. And all of you people using the Bible to tell them they are wrong, I think everyone deserves to find happiness, and if it is "wrong" they obviously know, and are okay with that risk they are taking. And the day they are before God and if he confronts them about it, that can be dealt with. But leave them alone, and let the big man deal with it if he really thinks it is wrong.
Answer
Just because a website is Christian does not mean its articles are wrong. There is no evidence of a biological link to homosexuality but the "liberal" websites and media would like you to believe that such a link exists. There are also serious risks associated with the gay lifestyle.
