Art Nouveau when and where did it begin?

Answer:
Art Nouveau was a style that was first started by a Czech artist named Alphonse Mucha in the very late 1800s and continued in to the 1900s. Mucha was born in Brunn, the capital of Moravia (now Brno). He was able to continue his education through high school due to his singing abilities. He worked around doing odd jobs--a little bit of everything-- attempting to raise money to get an art education. It wasn't until Mucha traveled to France, ending up in a print shop and getting a quite unexpected demand to make a poster for Sarah Bernhardt, one of the most famous actors in Paris. It was so successful that Mucha signed a contact with Berdhart and his career took off. Among Mucha's most prized works are his print, Le Pater, and his twenty work masterpiece, The Slav Epic.
