The best thing to do would be too seek out sites specializing in crafts and tutorials. You can also use your search engine to look for forums which inlclude step-by-step and detailed info on different origami shapes, what kind of paper you would need, and other variations you can do.
Being dyslexic, I find that while step-by-step picture tutorials are a a great help, it is easier for me to rely on live or video demonstartions. Paul Jackson has great videos on the subject (I included one here from a tutorial site I discovered), and he is a total whiz! Don't forget that the kind of paper you choose is really important, at leats until you become more experienced and develop a "feel" for origami.
