If not listening maybe what is being said is nonsense. Acting before thinking is very important in martial arts (I am a high degree black-belt having fought in the ring) because it is a matter of survival. Seeing without thinking is the bicameralness of animals who live for survival in the wild. If one thinks in a fight, they reflect fear and fear defeats one. Excessive climbing might be good for exercise especially when becoming letharic when older: sounds like they are having fun? Let us not forget fun, nor Patch Adams in Virginia. I realize an element of conformity is important. But, really, when are we going to let kids be kids. Maybe they should not start formal education until they wish it and let them play when younger. What is the rush? Oh, that's right public education was started by the DuPonts and we need everyone in the working mill quickly. No time to play, hello, goodbye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late. And where was the white rabbit going, but we forget that it was to the Mad Hatter's tea party. Maybe school is just that. Tea any one?

  • acts before thinking, is excessively active and runs or climbs nearly all the time; often is very restless even during sleep.
  • requires close and constant supervision, frequently calls out in class, and has serious difficulty waiting his of her turn in games or groups.
