Average salary of child psychiatrist?

Answer:
depends where they live, but considering the degree in which they had to study to be where they are, its usually right up there with computer programmers not far behind doctors.

**EDIT TO THE ABOVE:

First of all, child psychiatrists ARE doctors! Psychiarist = M.D. (or D.O.) vs Psychologist (not a medical Dr.) ... So the salary is usually somewhere between an internist and a surgeon (depending where you go and what your practice entails) ...It depends on where you live, and who you work for. The "average salary", depending on who you're asking, is around $200,000 annually. What does this number come from? It comes from any Pediatric Psychiatrist who works at a hospital or such, or is in training as a residency. The pay range between those is $40,000-$250,000.
However, if you work in a private practice, you have the potential to make significantly more money, especially if you live in an area where the need for child psychiatrists is higher... like Inland California or North Dakota (i.e. In certain areas, like Silicon Valley, I heard of child psychiatrists charging $400 & up/hr, and that if they charged less, they were thought of as being not as good as others. This translates to at least low seven-figure salary! However, I'd say this is the exception, rather than the rule.)

Remember, don't pick something because of it's salary, pick something you enjoy! If you have a roof over your head, enough food, and electricity, then you are already in the wealthiest 8% of the world. If you have those and a job you enjoy, then you're probably not gonna end up much happier. ^.^
