Barbary coast pirates?

Answer:
"Barbary Coast Pirates" are paramilitary Tunisian. Algerian and Moroccan sailors. under general protection of the Ottoman Empire, the term itself is an intentionally degrading name given to those poor brave souls..obviously by Westerners.

Western history exploits the tales about the "barbaric pirates" who appeared to attack merchant ships and sometimes even the escorting nayvies of these countries.

While it is true that native Barbary Coast sailors attacked Western ships, the real question to ask here is why they did that !

BARBARY COAST SAILORS WERE MERELY TRYİNG TO CREATE A BLOCKADE TO STOP THE LUCRATIVE SLAVE RUNNİNG ROUTES OF WESTERN NATİONS (What else do you think Westerners could have been after, around Barbary Coast, at the time).
