if it is making a clicking noise then it is probably the starter. If its and older car jump start and take the red wire off the battery. If it shuts off its the starter. If you can get to the starter hit it with a small hammer some times they just lock up. Take it to any autozone and they will tell you for sure. it also could be the fuel pump.you didnt say what is was doing. you must figure out if it getting gas, electric
actually if you take off the battery cable and it dies its the alternator not the starter
you probably have a problem with the battery cables
Probably a bad ignition switch or ignition lock cylinder. Good Luck!!
Correct, a car will not start with a disconnected battery
Fuel pump pressure problem.
The car battery. Same as the lights, cigarette lighter, windshield wipers, power windows, power seats, and the heater (for a little while), when the engine is off.
Most likely your car battery is completley dead.
If you use the radio without the engine running you will eventually discharge the power from the battery. It should be fine for a couple of hours, If not, your battery may need replacing.
reincarnate your battery dudes XD
Maybe because the flasher, works like an interruptor and cycles on and off. Drawing more power from the battery. And the radio and the cigarret ligther are they are accesories. Which run on a different circuit.
how do you know the battery is charged? also it could be a loose battery wire. they need to be properly thighten so the energy could flow. if there are no lights theres no power coming from the battery.
First check for a corroded or damaged battery terminal. Next check the battery.
If you have nothing on, as in, radio, lights, etc, you can easily drive 20 miles on a fully charged battery. If you have your lights on then maybe 10 miles. It really depends on how good the battery is.
The battery provides power to all electrical systems fitted to the car, such as the starter motor, lights, indicators, windscreen wipers, fuel pump, radio etc.
The alternator may need to be replaced.
Your car won't start. No electrical items will work (radio, lights, power windows/locks...)
Not right away. When the alternator goes out, there's nothing on the car to generate electric power, and everything electric in the car starts operating from what's stored in the battery ... spark plugs, cigarette lighter, radio, brake lights, power windows, etc. Once the battery is run down, since the alternator can't keep it charged, everything electric begins to die, starting with the current hogs ... starter, headlights ... and moving down to the low-power devices last ... interior lights and radio.
Starts the engine. Turns on lights and radio.
Starts the engine. Turns on lights and radio.
by nothing at all if there is no lights engine won't turn over no radio ect. you have a power problem check battery cables.
The Starter, Is Bad.
It is most likely a dead battery, especially if there is no power for lights or the radio. Check and clean the battery terminals because corrosion can break the electrical circuit.
