You didn't say which model Yamaha you have but if it's a newer A/V receiver, you can use it as a switch. Connect all the components to it and then one output to the TV input (again hdmi is best). This will make it so when you turn the receiver to an input, the video will automatically go to the tv. For example, if you put the receiver on DVD, the DVD video show up on the tv. This does mean that you have to have the receiver on to watch tv. I have mine set with hdmi inputs going through the receiver and component input to the tv from the dvr box. That way, if I want to watch the news and forgo the surround sound, you can put the tv input to component and just watch it with the regular tv speakers. If you need hdmi cables, monoprice.com is a good place to look. I have bought many from them and they are very high quality for a low price (around $15 for a 6'. Good luck.

-- A radio receiver should be hardly noticeable to the electrical system in a home or commercial building. Unless it feeds a theater-size audio system, a radio receiver typically uses less electrical power than an ordinary light bulb. -- If the radio is turned off, then as far as the electrical wiring is concerned, that's exactly the same as pulling the plug out of the wall socket. So, whether it's on or off, plugged in or not, a radio receiver would have to be seriously broken to have any effect on a circuit breaker.
