Black Algae in a fish tank isn't actually algae at all. It is bacteria protein called cyanobacteria. If your asking how to rid your tank of this, the first thing you'll want to do is test your water for nitrates and phosphates. Generally this is a major factor in the growth of the bacteria. Scrub the glass, clean the decor, and stir the gravel. Remove as much as possible with a net. Next perform a 25-30% water change. This will help reduce the levels of nitrates and phosphates. Also, since this type of bacteria has to photosynthesize reducing the amount of time the light is on will be greatly beneficial.

∙ 12y ago- if there is a black spot on your fish tank then that means that your fish is goin gto get pregnant and die after hving it so have fun bc they eat there way out then all the guts are all around and if you don't clean it out with your bare hangs then you'll killl the fish!

∙ 11y agoUnless your goldfish had black as part of it's colour when you bought it, chances are they are from ammonia burns which are healing. This means that you need to increase your water changes in the tank to help keep the toxins at bay.
One goldfish needs at least 20 gallons on it's own, and weekly 50% water changes along with good filtration on the tank.
