"The WHO recommends that albendazole and mebendazole should not be taken by any woman during the first trimester of pregnancy (WHO, 2005)."I found this answer in an academic paper on deworming programs in Sub Saharan Africa. So the answer is NO it is NOT safe.... Read the pamflet - these pills usually contain MEBENDAZOLE.
Albendazole is not used in abortion and can cause damage to a embryo/fetus all the way through the pregnancy. There is nothing that says it will make you abort. It's used when you have worms in your stomach and pregnant women can not use them. The doctor will even make you take a pregnancy test before giving them to you to make sure you are not pregnant. They can cause damage to the fetus and possibly also to a nursing baby. If you have worms speak to your doctor. If you seek abortion also speak to your doctor. Abortion is not something you experiment at home with using any random medication. It would be very dangerous.
No, but it shouldn't be used during pregnancy....
