In cholera the patient gets vomiting fallowed by severe loose motion. The isotonic fluid from the extracellular compartment is grossly reduced making the patient grossly hypertensive. Ultimately he dies of the complications of hypovolemia.

∙ 12y agoOnly in some cases, the minority of cases. Most people who contract cholera are not even aware they have it. Stomach acid usually kills it off. In the few cases that lead to digestive distress, it is relatively minor to a bit more aggressive and requires medical treatment to prevent dehydration. In the minority of sever cases, even with medical treatment it can be fatal.
