You didn't complete your question and I edited it so I may have lost YOUR train of thought so will answer your question in two parts. If your parents are illegals in the U.S., then so must your brothers be. You are better off going to the Consulate (if you are Mexican, etc.) and see what your rights are. Until you do this you risk your parents being sent back to the country from which they came along with your brothers. If you are a legal citizen of the U.S., then you could simply keep quiet and raise your brothers without doing anything. I think it's admirable of you to do this. You and your wife could take your brothers in and continue on as a family. It is illegal, but many do it. If you or your parents are not in the U.S. illegally and they can't manage with your brothers then yes, you can seek legal counsel and adopt your brothers, but it costs money. You can have your parents set up a 'Power of Attorney' over them, your brothers or simply your brothers. This gives you the right to help out your parents legally and finanacially (with monies they may have as well) and also give you the legal right to raise your brothers. Be sure your parents agree with your idea and don't pressure them. They're doing the best they can. You have not taken into consideration the fact your father will need further medical treatment and since your mother is working hard, but obviously not bringing in the money your father once did then perhaps you could help out there. I know it's a great responsibility, but your father is going to need medical treatment and physio. This is something you should discuss with your wife and see if you could get some financial help from relatives back in your parent's country. God Bless & I wish you luck
