She will if William becomes King. He is currently second in line to the throne, after his father, Prince Charles. Kate will not be queen in the same sense as the current monarch, Elizabeth II. Elizabeth II is Queen Regnant, meaning that she is queen in her own right and the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, having inherited the crown from her father. Kate will be queen (queen consort) because she will be married to a reigning monarch.

For example, if she becomes queen and she outlives William, she will NOT become the reigning monarch. The crown will go to William's eldest child with Kate, Prince George. She would then be queen in the same way that Elizabeth's mother was queen following the accession to the throne by Elizabeth II. Elizabeth's mother, also named Elizabeth, was known as Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, or fondly as the Queen Mum.

When she becomes queen, Kate will have a similar status to Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip.

Yes. When Prince William (whom she is married to) is crowned King, she will be crowned Queen. However, there is a notable difference. Kate would be a queen consort, which means she is only a queen because she is married to the King. Queen Elizabeth II, on the other hand, is a queen regent, not regnant, which means she inherited the throne in her own right.

Prince William is second in line to be King, after his father, Prince Charles.

As a queen consort, Kate Middleton would have the title Queen Catherine, but she would not hold any of her husband's powers.

Yes. Kate Middleton will one day be the queen consort (wife of a reigning king). There is, however a big difference between that and queen regnant. A queen regnant, such as Queen Elizabeth, is a female monarch who reigns in her own right.

Yes. If Kate Middleton is married to Prince William when he is crowned as King, she will be crowned as the Queen of England.

However, there is a notable difference: Kate would be a queen consort, which means she is only a queen because she is married to the King. Queen Elizabeth II, on the other hand, is a queen regent, which means she inherited the throne in her own right.

Because she had no title before her marriage to Prince William she is not Princess in her own right. She can be refered to as Princess William though. That is why people have been refering to the couple as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and not Prince William and Princess Catherine-because technically she is not Princess Catherine.

When William becomes king she will be consort to the king, and will certainly be given the title of Queen Consort and be called Her Royal Majesty; she may also be known as Queen Mother as was the mother of Elizabeth II. She will never become Queen Regnant, or reigning monarch. She is not in line to inherit the throne.

If she and William had had a daughter instead of a son, that daughter would one day have become Queen Regnant like Elizabeth II, given no unusual circumstances. The next queen regnant may very well be the daughter of HRH Prince George Alexander Louis.

At present, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The heir apparent (next in line) is her eldest son, The Prince Charles and he will become King if he is still living when Queen Elizabeth II dies.

The next in line after Prince Charles is his eldest son, The Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, who married Kate Middleton on 29 April 2011.

If Prince William succeeds his father, and is still married to Kate Middleton, she will then become his Queen Consort.
