Well. . .she would be her mother's dependent, so her mother is charged with taking care of her. It would probably be difficult to do that without her mother's permission. Also, minors in the U.S. (people under the age of 18) can't legally sign contracts without getting their parent or a legal guardian to sign it too, so this girl wouldn't, for example, be able to open a bank account, or take out a loan on a car, or rent an apartment, or even buy an apartment unless she had a responsible adult help her do it. These laws exist because it's very difficult for a 14-year-old girl to support herself on her own. It's illegal in many states to employ people that young except under very strict limits on how many hours they can work and what they can do, so many businesses have a general policy of not hiring people until they're at least 16. THIS is, in turn, the case because it's SUPER important for teenagers to finish school--many of those who don't get low-paying jobs and often remain financially dependent on their parents for much, much longer than they would have been had they simply waited to graduate from high school before trying to go out on their own. Personally, my advice to this girl would be to play it smart and stick with her parent(s) until she's 18. If she puts herself or others in danger by doing so, obviously she has the option of contacting the police, but. . .otherwise, the most important thing is for her to finish high school. Four years may seem like an eternity, but believe me, waiting will make the forty years following those much, much more enjoyable once she has her high school diploma. GOing to college is probably a good idea as well, but think high school first, and then go from there. Best of luck. P.S. If there were a real, important reason why someone couldn't stay with their parents--we're talking safety related--and there were a relative whom that girl absolutely trusted, she could probably move in with that relative at least temporarily, and possibly permanently, if the relative were ok with that. I only add this because you categorized this quesiton under "child safety."

Is it illegal for a 14-year-old girl move with her 16-year-old boyfriend if she is pregnant in Minnesota?

It is not illegal for you to move in with your boyfriend who is 16, that is IF YOU HAVE PARENTS PERMISSION TO DO SO. Because you are not 18 which still makes you a minor, and you still have to do what mom and dad says

Is it legal for a 17-year-old girl to move out on her own without the mother's permission?

In the state of Missouri, it IS legal for a 17 year old girl to move out, with permission. The key here is "without permission". Your mother can have you picked up by the law and brought back home every time you attempt to leave at the age of 17! Your mother is legally responsible for you until you are 18. So, hang in there until you are 18 and don't be in such a hurry to leave your Mom !
