No, you can not. If you are 16/17 then you must have parental consent in order to get married in Nevada.

It may have been done, but not legally. Currently in Nevada both people must be 18 to get a marriage license. If you are 16-17 you can get a license WITH parental consent. Please don't let the people asking the question make a trip out here just to be turned away.

I dont know about LV or Cali but in other states with the minors parent and a court order from a judge you can marry

In both states, you would still have to have court approval.

A word of caution, the age of sexual consent in NV is 16 and in CA it's 18. The state can file charges against a man even if the girl/her parents don't want them to. I don't know if NV normally prosecutes, I do know that CA does it quite often. I'd strongly advise you to talk to an attorney before you do anything else.

In order for a 16-year-old to get married in Nevada, they need permission from their parent/legal guardian. I'm not sure if you mean that she literally doesn't have parents (as in they're deceased), but if that's the case then *someone* has legal custody of her, and that's whose permission you would need.

Yes they can. However they must have either parent present at the time the license is issued or a notarized affidavit. Here are the marriage rules of Las Vegas, Nevada. http://www.insidervlv.com/marriage.html (06/13/09) It is a statistical fact that relationships involving people who co-habitat and/or get married prior to age 24 have an 85% failure rate. Biologically, this is when females reach full mature on the physical, emotional, and hormonal levels. At this point, a woman is fully prepared to have and handle children, as well as a male that is still not fully mature.

Males don't reach full physical and hormonal maturity until age 30. This is also when they reach their peak emotional maturity, but not to the point of being fully independent. Half of the male emotional health comes from a woman. The biochemical frequency range of the male brain adjusts itself to match that of the female, developing an emotional symbiotic relationship.

Couples who begin cohabiting and/or get married prior to age 24 can find themselves drawing away from each other as each reaches full maturity. Their whole view of the world, and each other, changes. This doesn't happen to all couples, but clearly it is a factor in most relationship breakdowns.

Cohabiting couples breakup three times more than married couples. Cohabiting couples that later marry have a 46% higher rate of divorce than those who did not cohabit prior to marriage. See Link Below

In some places yes, but it depends on the country and, in the US, the state. Almost zero states allow a sixteen year old to marry without any kind of parental consent, and the few that do require a court order.

See the related link below for detailed information by state.

If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must have one parent or legal guardian present. A notarized written permission is also acceptable. It must be written in English and needs to state the name, birth date, age of the minor child, along with the relationship of the person giving consent. The notary must note that the parent or guardian personally appeared before or was subscribed and sworn to.

If you are under 16, marriage can be authorized only by court order when the request has been filed by either parent or legal guardian.
