Can a 17-year-old runaway get legally married in Las Vegas? |
[Edit] |
Answer
The answer is no because if you are 17 years old in some states you're still considered a minor. You need to check with your respective state for the statutes for which minors can marry under, but most states require the consent of the parents or guardian if you marry before the age of 18. If you plan to marry in another state you have to consult with that state and county's marriage license department and find out what the laws are because some states and counties require that you have to be a resident to marry so you have to take that into consideration as well. Word of advice teen marriages don't really last so it's better to wait until you're at least in your early twenties don't be in a hurry to grow up so fast and marry.
Answer
I just wanted to add that Teen marriages WILL last if you make it and want it to.
