The parents permission is irrelevant. It is very possible and likely, he would face criminal charges, the seriousness of those charges depend upon state laws pertaining to sexual relations with a minor. A statutory rape charge is very possible, sexual battery, sexual explotation, child abuse and any number of other offenses against a minor child most of which are felonies. Likewise the minor's parents could face several criminal charges as well, the least would be endangerment of a minor child or moral corruption of an adolescent. I seldom make personal comments, but in this case I wonder just "What are the parents thinking to allow such a thing?"

The law varies from state to state. Each state has legislated an "Age of Consent" that varies from 16 to 18. So a 16 year old and a 19 year old might not be a problem at all. In other states consummation of the relationship could be considered statutory rape. In still others there is an age difference consideration, meaning if they couple are within a specified number of years of age, there will be lessor or even no charges.

∙ 16y agoNot positive but I have heard that if you are over the age of 18 dating a 'minor' take in case a sixteen year old, or being sexually active with them no matter what, you are most likely to go to jail.
