Popstars can be quite young. For example, look at the Jackson's Five. Stevie Wonder was also quit young when he started his career. But in general, popstars are just a bit older. And seven years old, well, that might be just to young for getting a popstar! I would recommend waiting I while longer! Often, young singers and entertainers do not finish their schools properly. That is not a wise thing to do, for if things turn out bad and your star is falling down, there is no work for you to do anymore!
